    Before you pin it

    • Ask whoever looks after the board. Many boards have rules or a sign-in sheet.
    • Put a date on your notice so people know it's current.
    • Take it down when the event is over or the item is gone.
    • Never cover someone else's notice. Make room, or come back later.
    • Make it readable from a few steps away: one big headline, short details.

    Where boards live

Look for boards in places where neighbours wait or linger:

    • Libraries
    • Cafés
    • Laundromats
    • Community centres
    • Grocery stores
    • Campuses
    • Co-working spaces
    • Places of worship

Every board belongs to someone. Check who, and ask first.

    Privacy check

    • Anyone can take a tab. Consider a separate email address or number for notices.
    • Don't put your home address on a notice. Meet in a public place.
    • Avoid photos of children or of anyone who hasn't agreed.
    • Remove the notice when you're done, so old details don't linger.

    Why offline?

A notice on a board reaches the people who walk past it every day — neighbours who aren't in your group chats and don't follow your feeds. It's slow, local, and surprisingly effective.
